APD to Have Traffic Enforcement Day Tomorrow

Extra Albany Police Department officers will be assigned to traffic enforement on Tuesday, May 7.

The Albany Police Department will have extra officers assigned to traffic enforcement on Tuesday, May 7, according to a departmental announcement.

Officers will focus their enforcement efforts on speed, red light, stop sign, seat belt and child safety seat violations, the announcement says. 

Funding for extra enforcement efforts comes through a $29,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a year-long program aimed at preventing deaths and injuries on roadways through special enforcement and public awareness efforts.
