Arraignment Postponed for Albany Man Accused of Running Down Bicyclists

A request from the defense has moved the formal arraignment to September 22.

The arraignment for David Mark Clark, the Albany man accused of running down four bicyclists in San Francisco in June 2010, was postponed Wednesday until September 22.

According to Seth Steward of the San Francisco District Attorney's office, the postponement came at the request of Clark's defense lawyers.

Clark, 40, was charged with attempted murder and assault and battery after the incident which sent three of the four bicyclists to the hospital.

He then crashed his car and ran away, police said. He was arrested two days later at the Albany Police Department after reporting that his SUV had been carjacked, police said.

The formal arraignment scheduled for September 22 could result in the dates being set for Clark's trial.
