Assault with Skateboard on Cal Campus – Victim Sent to Hospital

A female was taken to Alta Bates hospital Saturday night with an arm injury caused by a skateboard thrown at her by a passing skateboarder, according to a UC Berkeley police crime alert issued today, Monday.

A female walking with a friend on the UC Berkeley campus Saturday night was injured by a skateboard thrown for an unknown reason by a male in his 20s, UC Berkeley police said in a crime alert issued today, Monday.

The attack occurred as victim and her friend were walking on Frank Schlessinger Way near the Haas Pavilion at 11:30 p.m., police. The female and companion "were walking by a skateboarder who, for unknown reasons, threw his skateboard at her," the police alert said.

"The skateboard hit the victim’s arm," police said. "The skateboarder then fled on the skateboard, westbound on Frank Schlessinger Way. The victim sustained an injury to her arm and was transported to Alta Bates Hospital for treatment."

The skateboarder was described as white, 20-30 years old, and wearing a
t-shirt and light-colored cargo pants.
