Bicyclist Struck by Pickup Truck Tuesday Evening

The accident took place at approximately 5:50 p.m.

A 24-year-old cyclist was hit by a pickup truck in the intersection of Kains Avenue and Dartmouth Street on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 5:50 p.m. the woman was traveling north on Kains when she was hit by a pickup truck heading west on Dartmouth. Kains has stop signs on both sides of the intersection, while vehicles on Dartmouth Street have the right of way.

Lt. Daniel Adams of the reported the cyclist went through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign.

She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and was taken to a hospital by ambulance shortly after the incident.
