A five-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Solano Avenue and Curtis Street Saturday night.
At about 7:20 p.m., the child reportedly broke free from her father's grasp as they began to walk across the intersection. She ran across the street and was struck by a driver going west on Solano Avenue, Albany Police Lieutenant John Geissberger said Monday.
The girl was taken to Children's Hospital with an abrasion to her head, an injured leg and a swollen eye, Geissberger said.
The father and daughter were El Cerrito residents and the driver was from Rodeo.
