Carjacking Last Week Leaves Albany Woman Without Vehicle
As of Wednesday, police had not recovered the car, officials said.
A group of young women grabbed keys from an Albany woman as she stood on the sidewalk last week and stole her car, officials said Wednesday.
The woman was loading or unloading her vehicle, near Garfield and Talbot avenues, when the crime occurred, said Lt. Dan Adams of the Albany Police Department.
A group of four young woman came up to the victim about 9:30 a.m. on July 22, took her keys and jumped into the car, Adams said.

The woman's cell phone was in the vehicle during the carjacking, and police tried to tap into its GPS signal to find the car, but so far have been unsuccessful.
The young women appeared to be 18 to 20 years old, Adams said. There was no indication they had any weapons.
