Firefighters Respond to Medical Call on AC Transit Bus

Albany firefighters took a woman to the hospital after a medical situation on an AC Transit bus on San Pablo Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

Albany firefighters helped a woman get to the hospital after a medical emergency on a southbound Line 18 AC Transit bus Tuesday afternoon. 

Just after 1 p.m. firefighters received a call that a woman was having a seizure on a bus, said Capt. Jay Jorgensen of the .

When firefighters responded, they found a caregiver with two special needs clients on the bus. One of these people was having a medical emergency that firefighters determined was not a seizure.

The southbound bus was stopped at Marin and San Pablo avenues as firefighters got the woman off the bus. 

She was taken to Kaiser Oakland for care.

No one other than the trio was on the bus, Jorgensen said. 

The Alameda County Sheriff's Department responded, as did a supervisor from AC Transit, he said.
