Gallery: Neighbors Share Laughter, Food with Friends and Officials

National Night Out 2012 boasted a record-breaking number of block parties in Albany on Tuesday night. Share your photos and videos in this gallery.

Officials and neighbors came together on 31 different blocks in Albany on Tuesday night to celebrate . The goal, said organizer , is to help neighbors meet neighbors and promote safety and awareness. It's also a chance for residents to get to know police, firefighters and city officials.

One of my favorite Albany events -- so cool to go around with local police / fire / officials and see all those happy faces all over town. Thanks for making this happen, Karina!

Margaret, put it on your calendar to register for National Night Out next May/June and your block can participate too! NNO is August 6th, 2013. Contact Karina Tindol, ktindol@albanyca.org to register or get more information. When neighbors know each other, neighborhoods are safer.
