Update: CHP Looking for Driver in I-80 Hit-and-Run Crash

Three people were taken from the accident on Wednesday for medical care.

A hit-and-run driver caused a five-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 80 just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. 

The call about the accident came in at 5:48 p.m., said officer Sam Morgan, California Highway Patrol spokesman for the Oakland area office.

The crash occurred just south of the Buchanan Street exit into Albany.

Three people were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, Morgan said.  

Authorities ask anyone who noticed anything related to the crash to call the Oakland area CHP office at 510-450-3821, or the CHP's toll-free line, 800-TELL-CHP.
