Police Action In Lafayette Tuesday

A man apparently wanted for questioning in a domestic battery case sped away from a district attorney's investigator and Lafayette police when they came calling Tuesday.

Neighbors in the Silver Springs neighborhood were startled by a burst of activity on their quiet street when investigators approached a home there in connection with a domestic battery incident reported Monday night.

Neighbors reported seeing a homeowner leave his home, get into his car and leave the area at a high rate of speed when police came to call around noon Tuesday. Additional officers were called in to help seal off the area but the man managed to elude the cordon.

A helicopter was also summoned to help find the man, without result.

These situations can turn ugly so quickly, I hope everyone is ok.

Any update on this? Was the search concluded?

Looking at the Police Blotter for the week of 4/15 (looking specifically around noon on 4/17), this incident was apparently on Springhill Rd, not Silver Springs.

I heard the guy was last seen heading to S.F.O. Seems they are much more tolerant of domestic violence there,
