Police Calls: Stolen Champagne, Ivy Fight, Hurt Deer, Spray Painting Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Albany Police Department and does not indicate a conviction. The bulletin is edited lightly for readability and is a selection of recent activities.

AUG. 18

9:19 a.m. The day or night before, someone broke into a house on Curtis Street via a screen or rear window. Case report taken.

12:07 p.m. An ex-boyfriend of a resident of Curtis Street broke into the house to retrieve his things. Civil matter, parties advised.

AUG. 19

7:18 a.m. A vehicle was stolen on Santa Fe Avenue sometime the previous night. Case report taken.

8 p.m. A man was found passed out near the raised concrete bunker at Solano and Masonic avenues.

AUG. 20

11:35 a.m. Someone found his vehicle, stolen in El Cerrito, in Albany. Case report taken.

4:54 p.m. Someone reported that a man peeks into their windows every morning. Case report taken.

5:56 p.m. Two people stole several bottles of champagne and took off in a four-door gray vehicle on San Pablo Avenue. Case report taken.

6:45 p.m. A car was egged and vandalized. Log note only.

11 p.m. A broke out at the . Daniel Eugene Allen of Antioch and  David Anthony Allen of Pacheco were arrested and taken to North County Jail.

AUG. 21

4:05 p.m. Someone reported that his vehicle was hit by an AC Transit bus, shattering his side mirror and causing glass shards to come inside the vehicle and scratch him. He said he did not require medical attention. Log note only.

10:41 p.m. An anonymous caller wanted to quiet down a loud, possibly amplified, electric guitar someone was playing on Stannage Avenue. Responsible party was advised and will correct the situation.

AUG. 22

5:09 p.m. At on Solano Avenue, someone reportedly tried to fill a prescription fradulently, but it was not sold to him.

AUG. 23

1:17 a.m. Someone reported several people possibly drinking at Portland and Kains avenues. Police issued a citation on suspicion of marijuana possession. Case report taken.

7:38 a.m. On Washington Avenue on the front of the sidewalk, a gold picture was spray painted. Police notified the Public Works Department.

1:41 p.m. On Aug. 21, a car burglary had occurred and an iPod was stolen. Log note only.

3:04 p.m. Someone observed a man knocking on doors near Thousand Oaks Boulevard and San Carlos Avenue, and followed him in her car.

5:50 p.m. A and taken to the hospital. Case report taken.

6:20 p.m. A package delivered by U.S. mail was taken or stolen from the porch of a house on Madison Avenue. Case report taken.

AUG. 24

8:40 a.m. Spray paint was reported at the on Jackson Street. Case report taken.

12:59 p.m. A house on Evelyn Avenue was burglarized through the back window. Log note only.

5:26 p.m. A catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked in front of the club house at . Case report taken.

AUG. 25

1:38 a.m. A broken sprinkler was flooding the school ground at . Referred to an outside agency.

4:05 p.m. Luis Tirado was arrested on suspicion of vandalism in the form of spray painting a building next to the Highway 80 near Cleveland Avenue.

5:04 p.m. Someone reported fraudulent accounts being opened in his or her name. Case report taken.

9:16 p.m. Joseph Ferguson Collins was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at Washington and Adams avenues. He was taken to North County Jail.

10:46 p.m. On Washington Avenue, a gray Trek 7600 hybrid bicycle with a basket on the back, secured with a cable lock at 7:30 p.m., was reported stolen. Case report taken.

AUG. 26

12:27 a.m. At Pacific Steel Casting Company on Cleveland Avenue, Richard Murosalazar and Aaron Raphael Carmona of Richmond were arrested on suspicion of vandalizing in the form of spray painting. Both were taken to North County Jail.

12:34 a.m. At on Pierce Street, someone reported that vehicles honk every night at about the same time. Log note only.

AUG. 27

12:40 p.m. A deer was stuck in a net on the east end of . 

2:29 p.m. A deer with a possibly broken leg was reported in the back yard of a house on Ordway Street. 

AUG. 28

12:21 p.m. A burglary occurred on Hillside Avenue while residents were away. Case report taken.

7:45 p.m. A vehicle was stolen from Cornell Avenue between 4:30 and 7:45 p.m. Case report taken.
