Police Calls: 2 Arrested on Gun & Drug Charges, Protesters on Solano Draw Complaints

Albany police logs for Jan. 17 include two transients arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and drug possession, mail taken from a mailbox, a tenant accusing a landlord of taking her property and complaints about protesters on Solano.

Friday, Jan. 17

DUI arrest – 2:27 a.m. A 37-year-old Oakland man was arrested at 810 San Pablo Ave. on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more.

Non-injury accident – 10:25 a.m. Officer-initiated activity at Marin and Sante Fe. Disposition: Case report taken.

Concealed firearm, drug arrests – Two transients out of Redding were arrested at Washington and San Pablo: a 37-year-man at 11:22 a.m. on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and possessing marijuana for sale, and a 42-year-old woman at 11:36 a.m. on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine or other controlled substance.

Mail stolen – 1:43 p.m. Mail taken out of box on Hillside. Disposition: Case report taken.

Landlord takes tenant's property – 2:52 p.m. Reporting party in lobby reporting landlord took some of her items from the residence on Adams. Disposition: Civil matter – parties advised.

Demonstrators at law office – 5:42 p.m. on Solano. Demonstrators in front of law office setting up a tent. Reporting party wants them to leave. Advising that demonstrators have a video camera. Disposition: Log note only. Collision caused by reckless driver – 8:11 p.m. DUI driver westbound in a white vehicle "caused a collision at traffic signal possible buchanan/jackson." Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Protesters playing music late at night – 11:35 p.m. Protesters playing music all evening at Solano and Ordway.
