Police Calls: 3 Auto Burglaries, 2 Hit-and-Runs, Safeway Theft Arrest

The Albany police log for April 20-21 includes a stolen laptop, iPod and other items in three car burglaries, two hit-and-run accidents, three young males camping on the Ohlone Greenbelt and an arrest for theft at Safeway.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Saturday, April 20

Auto burglary – At 1:09 a.m., a person in the police lobby reported an auto burglary on San Pablo.

Campers on BART greenbelt – At 3:15 p.m., police received a complaint about three young males camping for the past two days with a dog on the greenbelt near the park on Masonic. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Hit and run – A hit and run with damage to a vehicle on Marin happened about 7 p.m. It was reported to police at 7:26 p.m.

Safeway theft arrest – A male from Antioch was arrested at Safeway on suspicion of burglary and petty theft.

Sunday, April 21

Found key – A Kia key found on Adams was reported by an officer at 9:14 a.m.

Hit and run – A hit and run with damage was reported at 1:31 p.m. caused by a two-wheel drive short-bed with a camper last seen going south on Sante Fe and turning onto Marin with a driver and passenger.

Auto burglary – A laptop was stolen overnight from a vehicle in a garage on Cornell. The vehicle's back window on the driver's side was broken.

Auto burglary – An iPod, backpack, garments and a vehicle handbook were stolen overnight from a vehicle on Johnson.
