Police Calls: 3 Drunk/Disorderly Arrests; Owner & His Dog Bitten by Another Dog at Albany Bulb

The Albany police logs for Nov. 2-3 include two robberies previously reported on Patch, a person and his dog bitten by another at the Albany Bulb, three drunk/disorderly arrests and multiple complaints about evening noise from Cornell School.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Saturday, Nov. 2

Drunk/disorderly arrest – At 12:33 a.m., police arrested a 26-year-old San Pablo man in the 900 Adams on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a 12:07 a.m. report of a man in black shirt and white pants in the middle of the street on San Pablo.

Drunk/disorderly arrest 
– At 1:10 a.m., police arrested a 32-year-old San Pablo man at 1002 Ordway on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a report of juvenile who appeared to have been drinking. A man with tattoos also was mentioned in the report.

Breaking glass, yelling man – At 8:57 a.m., a resident reported hearing glass breaking outside her apartment on Clay. When she investigated, she saw a man but couldn't tell what had been broken. When man saw her, he became angry and verbally accosted her. He's described as white in his 50s with black gray hair, wearing a ball cap and sunglasses and possibly carrying a backpack. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Lost iPhone 5 tracked to Berkeley – At 12:38 p.m., a person reported losing his black iPhone 5 in a red case sometime last night in the area of Solano and San Pablo. The tracking app indicates that it's somewhere in the wide area of Fourth Street in Berkeley. He's reporting it just to have a record of the incident. Disposition: Log note only.

Person and dog bitten by dog on Albany Bulb – At 12:59 p.m., a person in the police lobby with his dog reported that both he and his dog sustained injuries when they were bitten the day before near the beach and castle at Albany Bulb. Disposition: Case report taken.

Attempted burglary on Masonic – At 4:22 p.m., police received a report of an attempted residential burglary five minutes earlier in the 1200 block of Masonic in Berkeley. The suspect – described as a black male in his 60s with a medium build, wearing a brown jacket and carrying a brown bag – was last seen walking north on Masonic. Disposition: Follow-up complete.

Non-injury bike-vs-car accident – At 5:24 p.m., police received a report of an accident involving a bicycle and a car on San Pablo Avenue. No one was injured. The parties are in a parking lot on San Pablo. Disposition: Log note only.

Multiple complaints of loud noise from Cornell School – Between 6:54 p.m. and 8:17 p.m., police logged four complaints of loud noise coming from Cornell Elementary School. A check by the police department found that it was a school event scheduled to end at 8:45 p.m. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.

911 call on disabled vehicle on train tracks 
– At 8:48 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a disabled vehicle on the train tracks at Gilman Street Press on Eastshore. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Sunday, Nov. 3

Dozen males possibly fighting at Albany Bowl – At 1:18 a.m., police received a report of a group of 12 males possibly fighting in the parking lot. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Recently bought car impounded, false tags – At 9:11 a.m., police received a report that a recently bought vehicle was impounded by the Albany Police Department for false tags. The reporting party was told by the seller that the registration was up to date and valid. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

DUI, drunk/disorderly arrest – At 11:38 a.m., police arrested a 46-year-old male transient at 605 San Pablo Ave. on suspicion of driving under the influence and on being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a 11:25 a.m. report of man sleeping on an apartment building's staircase on San Pablo.

$75-$100 in coins stolen from washing machine – At 11:58 a.m., police received a report of an estimated $75-$100 in coins taken from a washing machine at Albany View Apartments on Calhoun. The reporting party contacted police for documentation only. Disposition: Log note only.

Robbery – At 2:54 p.m. police received a report of a robbery by three suspects with a black handgun on Key Route Boulevard. The suspects fled in a silver Chevy Malibu south on Key Route toward Marin. Disposition: Case report taken. Robbery – At 7:42 p.m., police received a report of robbery on San Pablo Avenue in which two suspects approached the victim, who was walking, from the rear, pushed her to the ground and took her bag. They were last seen going south on San Pablo and east on Washington. Disposition: Case report taken. Woman heard screaming inside residence – At 10:34 p.m., police received a report that a woman was heard screaming inside her residence on Madison. Disposition: Case report taken.
