Police Calls: A Lot of Pot Found, Child Hurt in Fall, Scare from Girlfriend

The Albany police logs for Aug. 3-4 include another stolen auto, an altercation at the Albany Bulb, a 911 call reporting a disturbance by a mother-in-law's husband, a child hurt in a fall, a big bag of pot found and an arrest for giving a fake ID.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Saturday, Aug. 3

Girlfriend gives resident a scare – At 2:01 a.m., police received a call that a subject tried the reporting party's back door on Evelyn and scared him. It turned out it was his girlfriend, and there was no need for police. Disposition: Log note only.

Mysterious disappearance of money – At 3:36 a.m., police received a report from someone who had just returned home on Pierce and found money missing. The reporting party was concerned that there had been a burglary. There was no sign of forced entry. Disposition: Log note only.

Big bag of pot found – At 8:53 a.m., police received a call from a person who found a large bag of marijuana on the southeast corner of Curtis and Marin. Disposition: Case report taken.

Altercation at Albany Bulb – At 10:12 a.m., police received a report of several involved in an altercation with the reporting party's husband at the Albany Bulb. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 10:40 a.m., police received a report of non-injury accident at Adams and Solano involving a black Toyota and and gray four-door vehicle. Disposition: Case report taken.

Vehicle stolen – At 10:45 a.m., police received a report of vehicle taken on Adams. Disposition: Case report taken. 

Lost jacket and camera – At 11:27 a.m., police received a report of lost blue men's fleece jacket with a red digital camera in the pocket at Memorial Park near the play structure. Disposition: Log note only.

Problem with mother-in-law's husband – At 7:31 p.m., police received a 911 call the a mother-in-law's husband was causing a disturbance is now departing. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Loud reports – At 10:29 p.m., police logged a 911 call, one of several calls of loud reports all over the north end of the city. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Sunday, Aug. 4

DUI arrest – At 2:13 a.m., police arrested a Oakland man, whose occupation was listed as an insurance agent, in the 1000 block of San Pablo on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more.

Sunglasses stolen from auto – At 9:33 a.m., police received a report of a $65 pair of sunglasses stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Pomona last night. Disposition: Log note only.

Identity theft – At 11:26 a.m., police received a report of identity theft that occurred on Fitzgerald Drive in Pinole. Disposition: Case report taken.

Recovered stolen vehicle – At 11:53 a.m., police received a report of a four-door vehicle with only a rear license plate being towed from Beverages and More that turned out to be stolen. Disposition: Follow-up complete.

Giving false ID arrest – At 4:40 p.m., police arrested an Oakland man at Beverages and More on suspicion of giving a false identification to police.

Non-injury accident – At 6:18 p.m., police received a report of non-injury accident in a garage on Pierce involving a 2003 Nissan. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Child injured in fall – At 6:46 p.m., police received a report of a 4-year-old whose head was hit in a fall on Buchanan and is bleeding. Disposition: Case report taken.

Suspicious poll taker – At 7:22 p.m., police received a report from a resident at Pierce and Solano saying that every night for the past week, a person has come to the door with handwritten documents regarding a poll. The reporting party checked online and found no current poll. The reporting party just wants a record of the incidents. Disposition: Log note only.
