Police Calls: Aggressive Yelling at Solano & San Pablo 2 Days in Row

The Albany police logs for Nov. 25-26 include a man arrested after refusing to pay his Club Mallard tab, a dog named Kona missing after an auto accident and a man and a woman on separate days yelling and acting aggressively at Solano and San Pablo.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Wednesday, Nov. 27

Found bike – At 2:16 a.m., police reported finding an abandoned bike at Washington and San Pablo. Disposition: Log note only.

Drunk/disorderly arrest at Club Mallard – At 2:26 a.m., police arrested a 24-year-old El Cerrito man at 752 San Pablo Ave. on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a 2:20 a.m. report of man refusing to pay his tab at Club Mallard.

Probation violation, noisemaking arrest – At 3:13 a.m., police arrested a 63-year-old Albany man in the 500 block of Pierce Street on suspicion of violating probation and disturbing another person by malicious noisemaking (Section 415(2) of the California Penal Code). The arrest followed a 2:23 a.m. complaint of loud music on Pierce.

Identity theft – At 8:30 a.m., police logged a report of identity theft filed by a person in the police lobby. Disposition: Case report taken.

Woman yelling, chasing people; warrant arrest – Police arrested a 32-year-old Berkeley female at Cleveland and Washington on an outstanding warrant. The arrest, whose time is not noted in the arrest log, may be the same one recorded in an "arrest made" report in the incident log at 9:04 a.m. of a woman yelling, screaming and chasing people at Solano and San Pablo.

Vehicle burglary – At 10:55 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle broken into overnight on Pomona. Disposition: Case report taken.

Cyclist injured in accident with vehicle – At 10:56 a.m., police received a report of an injury accident involving a cyclist and a vehicle at Solano and Peralta. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 1:46 p.m., police received a report of a minor non-injury accident in front of Safeway. Both vehicles pulled into the lot. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Man asking customers for money, refuses to leave – At 2:34 p.m., police received a report of man in a blue hat at the Arco Am/Pm asking customers for money and refusing to leave. Disposition: Request for police canceled.

Commercial burglary – At 5:07 p.m., police received a report of a rear door forced open between noon and 5 p.m. on Curtis. The building is clear as far as the reporting party knows, but it's unknown if all offices are clear. Disposition: Case report taken.

Altercation, wallet theft alleged – At 5:27 p.m., police logged a report of verbal altercation between a man in his 40s, weighing about 180 pounds, who was running around and had possibly been drinking, yelling at a thin man in his 70s with groceries on Sante Fe. A second caller said the older man is accusing the younger man of stealing his wallet. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 6:58 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident involving three cars blocking the roadway at the crest of the hill at Buchanan and Eastshore. Disposition: Log note only.

Battery – At 8:49 a.m., a person in the police lobby reported being assaulted by a female late last night or early this morning near a church on Solano east of the BART tracks. Disposition: Case report taken.

Taggers reported, arrest made – At 9 p.m., police logged a report of taggers on the railroad tracks at Cleveland and Washington. Disposition: Arrest made.

Dog named Kona missing after accident – At 9:25 p.m., police received a report that a 65-pound medium-sized brown/red dog named Kona jumped out of the reporting party's car after an accident on I-80 at Buchanan. The reporting party asks to be contacted if the dog is seen in the area. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Thursday, Nov. 28

Drug, drug paraphernalis arrest – At 3:37 a.m., police arrested a 25-year-old Berkeley man at 1100 Eastshore on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalis and methamphetamine or other controlled substance. The arrest followed a 3:06 a.m. "Suspicious Vehicle" report involving officer-initiated activity at Golden Gate Fields.

Identity theft – At 1:24 p.m., police logged a report of identity theft filed by a person in the police lobby. Disposition: Case report taken.

Yelling man in camouflage spoiling for a fight – At 2:58 p.m., police received a report of a man wearing camouflage who was yelling at people and trying to start a fight at San Pablo and Solano. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

911 call, man falls off bike – At 6:55 p.m., police received a 911 call that an older man fell off a bike one minute ago on Acton and needs medical assistance. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency. 

Arrest for DUI, violation of restricted driver rules – At 11:25 p.m., police arrested a 51-year-old Berkeley man at I-80 and Gilman on suspicion of driving under the influence and being a restricted driver without an ignition interlock device.
