Police Calls: Armed Robbery on Portland, Pot Mailed to Wine Shop

The Albany police logs for Nov. 6-7 include a robbery by two men with a gun on Portland, a large amount of marijuana received by Solano Cellars in the mail, a residenial burglary and an antique pistol donated to Goodwill.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

Outstanding warrant arrest– At 1:13 a.m. police arrested a 62-year-old Berkeley man at 1085 Eastshore on an outstanding warrant.

Non-injury accident – At 11:33 a.m., police received a report of non-injury accident in a parking lot at Buchanan and San Pablo. Dispostion: Log note only.

Stolen vehicle– At 12:09 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle stolen on Kains. Bad cell connection – the reporting party’s cell phone keeps dropping the call. Unknown time of occurrence or location. Dispostion: Log note only.

Antique pistol donated to Goodwill – At 3:14 p.m., police received a call from Goodwill on San Pablo wanting to turn in an antique pistol donated by a customer. Disposition: Misc. Public Service Provided.

Injury accident – At 3:17 p.m., police received a report of an injury accident at involving a Honda and “tan Grn” vehicle at Buchanan and I-80. Disposition: Case report taken.

“Junky looking” vehicle – At 7:30 p.m., police received a report of “junky looking” vehicle on Brighton with no reflectors and items falling off. It probably belongs to a neighbor’s son. Disposition: Follow-up complete.

Attempted bike robbery – At 8:25 p.m., police received a report that a drunk man attempted to grab a mountain bike belonging to a woman on Solano Ave. a minute earlier. The reporting party, who was a witness, said the suspect departed east on Solano. The suspect was described as white, about 30 years old, with dirty blonde hair and a possible “small soul patch” and wearing all black clothing. Dispostion: Log note only.

Thursday, Nov. 7

Stolen vehicle – At 8:52 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle stolen sometime the previous night on Stannage. Disposition: Case report taken.

Hit and run with damage – At 11:54 a.m., police received a report of parked vehicle damaged in a hit and run by an Arrowhead water truck on Cornell. Disposition: Case report taken.

A lot of pot delivered to Solano Cellars – At noon, police received a report that Solano Cellars on Solano received a  a large amount of marijuana in the mail. Disposition: Case report taken.

Hit and run with damage – At 12:15 p.m., police received a report of a hit and run resulting in damage on Cornell. Disposition: Case report taken.

Residential burglary on Brighton – At 2:14 p.m., police received a report of a cold residential burglary on Brighton. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 3:31 p.m., police received a report of non-injury accident involving a white vehicle at R.M.J. Services on San Pablo. in a parking lot at Buchanan and San Pablo. Dispostion: Log note only.

Newspaper solicitors – At 6:19 p.m., police received a report of two young men ringing doorbells and soliciting for a newspaper on Cerrito. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Armed robbery on Portland – At 8 p.m., police logged an an “Assistance to an Outside Agency” report of an armed robbery by two men that just happened on Portland. They were last seen heading toward Marin is a silver Audi wagon. Dispostion: Log note only.
