Police Calls: Arrest for Pushing Woman with Baby Down

The Albany police log for Sept. 20 includes a 21-year-old Kensington man arrested for allegedly pushing a woman down with a baby, a 17-year-old Berkeley female arrested for not wearing a seat belt and three more auto burglaries.

The following information was obtained from the 
daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Sept. 20

Mail theft – At 9:15 a.m., police logged a report of mail theft on Thousand Oaks filed by a person in the police lobby. Disposition: Case report taken.

Auto burglary – At 9:18 a.m., police received a report of a cold auto burglary on Key Route. Disposition: Case report taken.

Arrest for child abuse likely to cause great injury 
– At 10:47 a.m., police arrested a 21-year-old Kensington man in the 1200 block of Brighton on suspicion of domestic battery resulting in injury and child abuse likely to result in great bodily injury. The arrest followed a 10:27 a.m. report from a witness who saw a male push down a female with a baby in the 1200 block of Brighton.

Auto burglary – At 12:05 p.m., police received a report of a cold auto burglary on Pomona. A phone coin purse was taken. Disposition: Case report taken.

Arrest for not wearing a seat belt – At 12:31 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old Berkeley female at 1000 Jackson for not wearing a seatbelt.

Auto burglary – At 12:38 p.m., police received a report of a cold auto burglary on Key Route. Disposition: Log note only.

Cigarette-smoking man screaming – At 4:43 p.m., police received a report of man sitting in older RV on Dartmouth smoking a cigarette and screaming. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Auto burglary attempt – At 5:40 p.m., police received a report that someone rifled through a vehicle on Key Route between Wednesday afternoon and today. There was no loss. Disposition: Log note only.

Hit and run with damage – At 6:18 p.m., police received a hit and run with damage that occurred this morning at Marin and San Pablo. The responsible vehicle was a cream Volkswagen Beetle driven by a white male 17-18 years old with brown hair. Disposition: Case report taken.

Man and woman fighting on San Pablo – At 8:50 p.m., police received a report that a man and woman in their 40s who had been drinking were fighting on San Pablo and had now split up. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Injured cat – At 9:47 p.m., police received a report of an injured cat under the reporting party's car on Pierce near Bridges Rock Gym. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.
