Police Calls: Battery Arrest, Foam Shop Damage, Dead Squirrel in Box

The Albany police log for March 23-24 includes a domestic battery arrest on Marin, a battery at Albany Bowl after a dispute, a small lost dog, a wallet taken by a girlfriend and a dead squirrel placed in a blue shoebox.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Saturday, March 23

Battery – At 1:42 a.m., a person reported being battered by a friend and his girlfriend at Albany Bowl after a dispute. No medical attention was required. Disposition: Misc. public service provided.

Vandalism, burglary? – At 3:44 a.m., broken glass was reported at the Foam Creations futon shop on Solano, which appeared to have been broken into.

Found driver's license – At 7:57 a.m., a person brought into the police station a California driver's license found on the ground.

Domestic battery arrest – At 3:50 p.m., a female came to the police station and reported that her husband was making threats. At 5:41 p.m. police arrested a Albany resident, a restaurant employee, in the 1600 block of Marin on suspicion of domestic battery.

Lost dog – At 9:01 p.m., police received a report of lost three-pound, white and black papillon named Lulu on Curtis.

No-injury accident – A no-injury vehicle accident was reported 10:22 p.m. on Sonoma.

Sunday, March 24

Dead squirrel – At 10:52 a.m., a person reported placing a dead squirrel in a small blue shoebox on the side of Key Route just north of Solano.

Aggressive begging – At 7:22 p.m., police received a complaint of a man about 20 years who was being verbally aggressive while begging for money at Safeway. Police were unable to locate the man.

Wallet taken – At 8:42 p.m., a person in the police station lobby reported that the person's girlfriend took the person's wallet on Stannage. Disposition: Misc. public service provided.
