Police Calls: Boyfriend Throws TV Out Window, Complaints About Transients on Sidewalks

The Albany police logs for Oct. 12-13 include a boyfriend allegedly trashing the place and throwing a TV out the window, a domestic battery arrest at Albany Bulb, two complaints about transients on sidewalks and an iPod stolen in a vehicle break-in.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Saturday, Oct. 12

Male smashing things indoors – At 12:46 a.m., police received an anonymous report from a neighbor saying a female just left a residence on Garfield and that a male in now inside smashing things. Disposition: Log note only.

Boyfriend throws TV out window – At 1:21 a.m., police received a report that the reporting party's boyfriend is trashing the place on Garfield and just threw a TV out the window. She wants him to leave. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Two males fighting – At 3:17 a.m., police logged a "Public Substance Influence" report of two males fighting at San Pablo and Portland. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Hit and run with damage – At 11:30 a.m., police logged a report of a hit and run with damage in the front middle row at Target. Disposition: Log note only.

Transient with belongings on sidewalk – At 10:12 a.m., police received a complaint about a transient who has strewn his belongings out on the the sidewalk on Clay near Albany Bowl. The reporting party wants him moved along, and also says it's disheartening for his daughter to encounter the transient on her way to school in the mornings. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Death threats, suspicious person – At 5:32 p.m., police received a report from someone was the victim of prior death threats saying he concerned about a man sitting near the front of his residence off and on throughout the day.

Embezzlement – At 5:36 p.m., police logged a report of a person in the lobby who wanted to report being swindled out of money.

iPod stolen from vehicle – At 7:47 p.m., police received a report that a vehicle was broken into on Marin last night and an iPod taken. The reporting party does not want a report filed, just a record of the incident. Disposition: Log note only.

Sunday, Oct. 13

DUI arrest – At 2:16 a.m., police arrested a 31-year-old San Pablo man at Gilman and San Pablo on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more.

Outstanding warrant arrest – At 2:30 a.m., police arrested a 29-year-old Chowchilla man Gilman and San Pablo on an outstanding warrant.

Drug paraphernalia arrest – At 2:34 a.m., police arrested a 54-year-old Oakland man at the end of Buchanan on suspicion of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Transient lying on sidewalk next to ATM, talking to customers – At noon, police received a report a transient lying on the sidewalk in front of an ATM at the Bank of America on Solano talking to bank customers. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Domestic battery arrest – At 5:12 p.m., police arrested a 32-year-old Oakland man at the Albany Bulb on suspicion of domestic battery resulting in injury.

Non-injury accident – At 5:17 p.m., police received an anonymous report of a non-injury traffic collision at San Pablo and Brighton. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Non-injury accident – At 5:25 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident of a car into a fence at Cleveland and Washington. Disposition: Vehicle towed.

Man yelling at Am/Pm – At 6:37 p.m., police received a report of a man in his 40s yelling at a clerk at the Arco Am/Pm about money for a ticket. Disposition: Police/medical/fire assistance refused.

Drug paraphernalia arrest – At 11:44 p.m., police arrested a 42-year-old Oakland woman at the end of Buchanan on suspicion of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a 11:23 p.m. "Suspicious Vehicle" report of officer-initiated activity at Waterfront Park.
