Police Calls: Burglaries, Altercations, Accidents, Dog Problems

The Albany police log for March 11-12 includes burglaries of three autos and one home, two non-injury accidents, complaints about dogs barking and a dog attacking a dog, and altercations at Target, AM/PM, Albany Bowl and Metro PCS.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Monday, March 11

Vandalism – Graffiti was reported on the door of Made in Japan on San Pablo Avenue.

Disturbance of the peace – 11:48 a.m., a disturbance was reported at Metro PCS on San Pablo Avenue. The disputing parties separated and the matter was resolved.

Dog barking – A complaint at 2:09 p.m. reported a dog barking for five hours on Spokane.

Vandalism – A passer-by called to report a parked vehicle with a broken window at Brighton and Kains.

Vandalism – Target security called at 9:25 p.m. reporting the back window of a vehicle the westernmost row of the parking lot was broken in the previous 10 minutes.

Auto burglary – A burglary was reported 9:35 p.m. in the westernmost row of the parking lot at Target.

Tuesday, March 12

Disturbance of the peace – two men were reported to be arguing at 1:42 a.m. in the north lot of Albany Bowl. Police were able to locate the two men.

Auto burglary – A caller at 6:42 a.m. said his wife's vehicle on Taft was broken into during the night.

Dog attacks dog – A caller at 10:03 a.m. reported the caller's dog had been attacked on Beverly by a neighbor's dog two days ago. The caller took the dog to the vet and thought the vet would report it to BAC. BAC had not received the report. Albany police took a report.

Disturbance of the peace – A verbal altercation between customers at the AM/PM on San Pablo Avenue was reported at 12:08 p.m. The parties separated and the matter was resolved.

Disturbance of the peace – A call at 12:40 p.m. reported an altercation in the Target parking lot between a 21-year-old woman, who was with store security, and a 40-year-old man accompanied an elderly woman. The disputing parties separated and the matter resolved.

Residential burglary – At 2:25 p.m., a resident on Dartmouth reported a burglary at the home after the resident had left at 10:30 a.m.

Barking dog – A caller on Spokane reported an on-going problem with a barking dog.

Vehicle accident – A vehicle accident was reported at Solano and Ordway at 4:18 p.m. No one was injured.

Lost property – A caller said an olive green wallet containing $40 cash, two credit cards and a California Driver's License was left on top of the caller's vehicle at Marin and San Pablo.

Auto burglary – An auto burglary was reported to have occurred during the previous evening on Taft.

Auto vs. bicycle – A driver of a vehicle stopped at the police station about 10:05 p.m. to report colliding with a bicyclist who was knocked uninjured off his bike at Portland and San Pablo near Sizzler. The bicyclist got back on the bike and rode away.
