NOV. 21

9:09 a.m. Four vehicles were involved in an accident at San Pablo Avenue and Buchanan Street. At least one person was taken to the hospital. (Albany Patch has requested additional information from police.)

10:44 a.m. People reported a "widespread chemical smell" near the Albany Police Department. PG&E checked neighborhoods in Albany, El Cerrito and Berkeley.

2:06 p.m. A man selling food in front of was reported to be "making students feel uncomfortable." 

2:15 p.m. Someone smashed a window in a car parked near and stole a purse.

2:36 p.m. Someone at reported an assault that had occurred earlier in the day. 

5:55 p.m. The clerk at Cigarette Discounters was .

NOV. 22

3:02 a.m. Police arrested Jeffrey Parkhurt of New Mexico on suspicion of burglary after he was reported to be outside a home in the 900 block of Polk Street. He was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer Detention Facility in downtown Oakland.

2:13 p.m. Someone reported a group of seven men shooting a handgun at the near the castle.

5:34 p.m. A man was taken to a psychiatric facility after someone with possible mental problems was said to be "running with a large sword in hand yelling to himself" at Pier One Imports in El Cerrito Plaza. He left the plaza and ran south. Police found him in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue. 

NOV. 23

3:34 p.m. Police arrested Shane Richard Gray of Richmond after a report of a man in the 500 block of Cleveland Avenue "spraying 'free' something" on the roof of Western Forge & Flange. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, possessing burglary tools and vandalism. Gray was released on a citation with a notice to appear in court. (Gray has been written about in the East Bay Express for his campaign to free Indian activitist Leonard Peltier.)

4:31 p.m. Police were called to the parking lot at the Albany waterfront for a stray or lost chihuahua. Animal control responded to take care of the situation.

8:51 p.m. A fight between two women followed a report of a driver hitting a parked car on Washington Avenue. 

NOV. 24

3:03 a.m. Police arrested Maurice Carmichael of Berkeley at San Pablo and Francisco Street on a warrant from the Oakland Police Department, and walking into the road against a red light. He was taken to the Albany Police Department and released with a citation to appear in court.

10:24 p.m. Police arrested Tamara Ward Robinson, a transient, on Buchanan during a bicycle traffic stop on suspicion of carrying a concealed "dirk or dagger" while on probation. She was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer jail.

NOV. 25

3:54 a.m. Police arrested Neil Jordan Akin of Richmond at Buchanan and Pierce streets in connection with possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation. He was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer jail.

7:07 a.m. A man took clothes from a "laundry mat" on San Pablo. 

8:26 a.m. Someone called to report "rabbits in the street" on Pierce, saying he or she was "concerned that they may get run over." 

2:40 p.m. Someone called to report , including "shopping carts, trash and old food near (a) fire pit, mattresses, etc.," as well as "trash bins overflowing all over the bulb."

6:20 p.m. Police arrested a 15-year-old Albany boy in the 1000 block of Santa Fe Avenue, at Marin Elementary School, on suspicion of possessing marijuana and tobacco. He was released to a parent with a notice to appear in court. 

NOV. 26

8:32 a.m. Police assisted the California Highway Patrol with a collision on Interstate 80 involving multiple vehicles. (A attempting to flee police by running across the highway the prior night.)

10:25 a.m. Someone called to report that a recycling bin had been left in the street, saying it was "a pet peeve of his and he has spoken to the garbage company." 

1:06 p.m. A woman accidentally called 911 and, when called back by the dispatcher, said it "must have been a misdial" because her phone was "sticky."

2:24 p.m. Someone broke into a car in the 500 block of Pierce the prior night via a window smash.

9:06 p.m. Someone reported six people "involved (in) road rage from (a) minor traffic accident" at the Albany Twin.

10:32 p.m. A man in the 700 block of Madison Street called police saying someone "threw something through his living room window about a month ago" and that had been going on for 20 minutes.

NOV. 27

5:53 p.m. Police arrested Terry Lynne Neville of Oakland on suspicion of shoplifting at . She was taken to the Albany Police Department, then released with a notice to appear in court.

NOV. 28

9:53 a.m. Someone reported a noisy dog near Solano and Adams Street that "barks all day long."

11:42 a.m. Police arrested Tammy Lynn Ashworth of Citrus Heights for a warrant related to grand theft, embezzlement and using fake currency, in addition to several other violations. She was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

1:53 p.m. Police arrested Charles Richard Bachinski of Berkeley on suspicion of resisting arrest after he was said to be acting "confrontational" with a bartender at  on Solano. He "was asked to leave and complied" but then proceeded to drink a beer on the street, according to the police log. Bachinski was taken to Glenn Dyer jail. 

5:48 p.m. A neighbor reported seeing two women steal packages from a nearby front porch in the 900 block of Ordway Street.

11:40 p.m. Security at the reported a burglary from a vehicle in the bowling alley parking lot. 

NOV. 29

4:28 p.m. An officer noticed heavy smoke coming from a garbage can at .

1:13 p.m. A woman in her 40s in a "flower colored dress" with a chest tattoo and glasses stole a bottle of alcohol from .

5:48 p.m. Someone broke into a garage in the 900 block of Cleveland and stole a television, video game console and bag.   

NOV. 30

10:39 a.m. Someone used a bad check to make a purchase in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue. 

1 p.m. Someone smashed a vehicle window in the 1200 block of Solano, but did not take anything.

3:55 p.m. Someone reported that a "tenant living in (a) trailer (was) dumping (a) substance into the creek" near Masonic Avenue on a regular basis.

4:30 p.m. Someone reported being bitten by an "aggressive dog" near the . 

8:58 p.m. A mother accidentally locked her 3-year-old inside her car while at the .

DEC. 1

12:23 a.m. Someone reported that a chain on the flagpole at Albany High was "making lots of noise," and asked police "to tie the chain to the pole so the noise will stop." No police action warranted at this time.

8:10 a.m. Someone stole a car from the 700 block of Carmel Avenue during the night.

5:45 p.m. A vehicle struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Solano Avenue. The incident was reported to have resulted in injuries. (Albany Patch has requested additional information from police.)

5:50 p.m. Someone found two kittens in .

DEC. 2

8:44 a.m. Someone burglarized a vehicle in the 600 block of Pierce during the night.

9:06 a.m. Police noticed a second vehicle that had been burglarized overnight, also in the 600 block of Pierce.

9:43 a.m. Someone reported nearly being struck by a thrown rock in the 1000 block of Talbot Avenue.

11:21 a.m. Someone punctured a vehicle tire overnight on Curtis Street.

1:21 p.m. Police received a report of "10 kids fighting 8" in the middle of Brighton Avenue, but were unable to locate the youth.

4:45 p.m. Someone reported that a rock had been hurled, using a slingshot, into a back yard on Talbot. 

6:43 p.m. Police arrested Richard Alan Cohen of Richmond after a family fight in El Cerrito Plaza. Cohen was arrested on suspicion of possessing a hypodermic needle; possessing narcotics without a prescription; being under the influence; and driving under the influence. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail. 

11:05 p.m. Police arrested Eugene Adams of Walnut Creek on suspicion of driving under the influence near San Pablo and Washington avenues. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.  

DEC. 3

2:51 a.m. Police arrested Michael R. Relerford of Oakland, at European Motor Works, for a misdemeanor warrant from an outside agency. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

4:02 a.m. Police arrested Susan Kay Davies and Daniel Wiliam Paiva, both of Oakland, at Central Avenue and Pierce Street. Davies was arrested on suspicion of possessing a hypodermic needle and driving on the highway without a valid license. Paiva was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia. Both were reported to be on probation.

9:59 a.m. Someone stole a motor scooter from a driveway in the 600 block of Spokane Avenue.

12:44 p.m. Police responded to a report of a taxi "up over (the) median" at Madison and Buchanan streets, with the driver "acting belligerant" and "possibly intoxicated." The driver was taken to a hospital and the investigation "is continuing." 

12:53 p.m. A man reported that his elderly father had been "scammed out of money in the past," and that the scammer was en route to his father's home. Case report taken.

4:40 p.m. Someone reported receiving numerous harassing phone calls from the marketing department at the Contra Costa Times.

DEC. 4

11:35 a.m. Someone stole a vehicle from the 900 block of Adams Street.

2:14 p.m. Someone reported that his or her rear license place had been stolen.

8:36 p.m. Police arrested Carleton Alexander Kelley of Albany, in the 1500 block of Posen Avenue, on suspicion of battery. 

10:40 p.m. Police arrested Julia Young Park of El Cerrito on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 500 block of Pierce. She was released with a citation and a notice to appear in court.

DEC. 5

9:08 a.m. Someone reported that his wife was being "threatened by a bill collector."

7:03 p.m. An injury-accident was reported at Garfield and San Pablo. (Albany Patch has requested additional information from police.)

7:44 p.m. Someone reported that the same dog that had bitten someone three months ago "bit another child" earlier in the day.

8:15 p.m. Someone reported what appeared to be a big fire at the Albany Bulb after noticing it from "across the water" at Costco. 

9:56 p.m. A woman called police wanting "to talk to an officer about the rain leaking into her house" on Pierce. No police action warranted at this time.

DEC. 6<

4:14 a.m. Someone reported a burglary on Pierce involving a man in his 40s wearing a beanie and dark clothing, and a vehicle parked on the street near a dirt lot.
