Police Calls: Crowd Fight, CVS Theft, AC Transit Bus Altercation

The Albany police log for March 16-17 includes includes a physical altercation involving 20-30 people at Solano and San Pablo early Saturday, theft of a cart of CVS vitamins, and a dispute between an AC Transit supervisor and a passenger.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Saturday, March 16

Disturbance of the peace – At 1:29 a.m., a physical altercation involving 20-30 people was reported at Solano and San Pablo. A case report was taken.

Disturbance of the peace – A dispute between an AC Transit supervisor and a passenger was reported at 9:58 a.m. at Monroe and San Pablo. The parties were separated and the matter resolved.

Suspicious person – A resident reported seeing a woman about 40 years old with a black ponytail in a backyard who jumped a fence leading to Marin and ran when the intruder saw the resident at about 10:20 a.m. Police were unable to locate the intruder.

Theft – A large cart of vitamins was stolen from CVS Pharmacy on Solano about 6:08 p.m. The thief was described as a tall African-American man about 44 years old wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans, last seen at Ramona and Marin in an older, peach-colored sedan.

Sunday, March 17

DUI Arrest – A male student was arrested at 2:22 a.m. at Buchanan and Cerrito on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Suspected burglary – A woman called at 11:38 a.m. to report she had just returned to her home on Stannage to find the front and back doors wide open. She had not entered but would wait in the driveway for police to arrive.

License plate stolen – A caller reported a license plate taken from a vehicle at Target the day before.
