Police Calls: 2 Arrests, Wallet Stolen, Dog Rips Kid's Shirt

The Albany police log for April 5 includes includes a drunk and disorderly arrest, another arrest at the Albany Bulb, a wallet stolen at the Safeway Pharmacy, and a dog nipping a Cornell student and ripping the student's shirt.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Friday, April 5

Pedestrian arrest – A pedestrian stopped by police about 12:35 a.m. at the dead-end of Buchanan was arrested.

Dog rips child's shirt – A witness reported that at about 11:05 a.m. the smaller of two dogs being walked by a man on Cornell at Cornell School jumped up and nipped one of two students walking toward school and ripped the student's shirt.

Backpack found in trash – At 3:13 p.m., a public works employee reported finding a backpack with medical supplies in the trash at Memorial Park.

Non-injury accident – At 3:23 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on San Pablo Avenue.

Hit and run with damage – At 4:35 p.m., police received a report that a vehicle on Key Route was damaged in a hit and run about 2 p.m.

Theft of personal information – At 4:35 p.m., a woman on Washington reported that "print player cards for players at work" with Social Security numbers and dates of birth were taken from the office. Disposition: Request for police canceled.

Wallet theft at Safeway Pharmacy – At 7:39 p.m., police received a report of a wallet with credit cards taken at the Safeway Pharmacy on Solano about two hours earlier.

Drunk or disorderly arrest – Around midnight, police arrested a Berkeley male at Garfield and Kains on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way.
