Police Calls: Cockatiel in a Bush, Bank Robbery Report, Man in a Dumpster

6:27 p.m. Albany police were advised to be on the lookout for a gold Nissan stolen from El Cerrito Plaza.

11:38 a.m. Police were asked to help at the waterfront to quarantine a dog that was reported to have attacked "a couple of dogs" the prior week.

12:11 p.m. Police gave a warning to two people collecting recycling at Adams Street and Washington Avenue. 

1:31 p.m. Police responded to a "road rage incident" where a woman slapped or scratched another person's forehead, and knocked a Bluetooth headset to the ground, breaking it.

2:21 p.m. Police gave a warning to candy and soda vendors outside Albany Middle School.

2:21 p.m. Police spoke with a man on Cerrito Street who had been selling fruits and vegetables door to door without a permit. 

5:31 p.m. Police responded to a burglary report in the 700 block of Madison Street. 

6:36 p.m. Police arrested Lisa Ann Fleming of Richmond at Eastshore Highway and Buchanan Street on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and paraphernalia, and giving false identification to a police officer. She was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

9:25 p.m. Police responded to a robbery report at Portland and Santa Fe avenues. .

FEB. 16

6:32 a.m. Police gave a warning to someone on Cerrito Street who was taking recycling.

7:09 a.m. A custodian on Key Route Boulevard reported that a homeless man was sleeping inside the recycling area outside the Albany High School gym. Police gave the man a warning.

9:14 a.m. Someone took items out of a car parked in the 600 block of Madison the prior day.

11:08 a.m. A parent on Madison called police to report that his or her daughter was refusing to go to school. Police helped resolve the situation.

10:08 p.m. Police arrested Gabriel Antonio Fernandez of San Pablo on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, resisting arrest and probation violation while they were patrolling a parking lot in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue. Fernandez was taken to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in downtown Oakland.

11:24 p.m. Police arrested Maria Salazar of Richmond on suspicion of public intoxication at Solano and San Pablo avenues. She was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail. 

FEB. 17

1:40 a.m. Police arrested Nancy Fing Phan of Richmond on suspicion of driving under the influence at San Pablo and Garfield avenues. She was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

1:53 a.m. Police arrested Samuel Scheinbach of Oakland on suspicion of driving under the influence at Solano and San Pablo avenues. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

8:15 a.m. Police gave a warning to a man in his 50s who was pushing a shopping cart with recyclables on Cornell Avenue.

10:19 a.m. Someone stole a trailer off a truck parked in the 1400 block of Posen Avenue sometime in the prior 24 hours.

12:37 p.m. A caller on Carmel Avenue told police about a group of five Albany High boys who "keep throwing glass bottles" on the sidewalk and street during lunch. 

1:49 p.m. Two people stole garden tools or equipment from a truck bed at Stannage and Solano avenues.

1:54 p.m. Someone found a cockatiel in the bushes. Police referred them to Berkeley Animal Control. 

FEB. 18

1:18 a.m. Police arrested Joseph F. Karr of Alameda on suspicion of driving under the influence at Washington and Stannage avenues. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

2:11 a.m. Someone on Washington reported nine "people in (the) area being loud." Police told them about the complaint and they said they would quiet down.

2:18 a.m. Police arrested Alisha Monique Nielsen of Berkeley on suspicion of driving under the influence near . She was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

10:29 a.m. Police responded to a report of a bank robbery in the 800 block of San Pablo where no weapons were seen but the robber "had his hand in his pocket." The man left in a cab that was waiting in the parking lot. Police arrested Howard Neil Flynt in connection with the robbery. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. Read more here.

1:37 p.m. Police arrested two women at after store security said they were heading to the register to pay "but are concealing items." The women, Quintina L. Bondskelly of Oakland and Tamara Rucker of Emeryville, were taken to Glenn Dyer jail on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit at crime.

4:39 p.m. Police gave a warning to a man and woman going through recycling on Solano Avenue after the caller followed them down the street.

6:18 p.m. A parent on Stannage called police to say his or her son and some friends had seen someone run through the back yard in the early morning hours and that it appeared the person had been sleeping in their yard.

FEB. 19

1:05 a.m. Police gave a warning to a group at the firepit at the Albany waterfront.

1:34 a.m. Police arrested Richard A. Sanfilippo of San Lorenzo on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 900 block of San Pablo. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

1:56 a.m. Someone reported noisy bar patrons at Club Mallard but police were unable to locate the source of the complaint.

10:43 a.m. Police gave a warning to a red-haired man in a dumpster on Kains Avenue who was reported to be yelling and screaming.

6:44 p.m. Police arrested Beth Whittlesey of Grass Valley and Rebecca Burgan of Oakland on suspicion of public intoxication. Whittlesey was released on a citation. Burgan was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

FEB. 20

12:45 a.m. Police responded to a report of juveniles trying to get into a window at MacGregor High School. They found a boy and girl from Richmond and took them both into custody on suspicion of burglary.

12:56 p.m. Someone broke a window in a burglary attempt of a vehicle parked for 30 minutes at Ocean View Elementary School.

5:09 p.m. Police contacted a woman on Taft Avenue who was walking with her children after noticing her garage door open, with a number of valuables inside. The woman said she hadn't known the door was open, and police helped correct the situation.

FEB. 21

3:42 a.m. Police arrested Lovdeep Sandhu of El Sobrante on suspicion of driving under the influence at Castro and Madison streets. He was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.
