Police Calls: High School Battery, Assaulted Man Injured, Bulb Bonfire, Pot Arrest

The Albany police log for Sept. 6 includes a battery at Albany High, a man with a bleeding head at Happy Donut, a bonfire on the Albany Bulb, an arrest for pot possession, vehicles ignoring a crossing guard and dogs at the dog park after hours.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Sept. 6

Man attacked, head injury – At 3:15 a.m., police received a report of a 25-year-old who had been attacked by an unknown suspect and was bleeding from the head at Happy Donut on San Pablo. Disposition: Subject/s transported to hospital.

Pot arrest – At 9:39 a.m., police arrested a 22-year-old El Cerrito man at Washington and San Pablo on suspicion of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

ID theft ledas to driving citation – At 1:25 p.m., a person reported that someone used his identity while operating a vehicle and received a citation. Disposition: Log note only.

Vehicles ignore crossing guard – At 2:09 p.m., police logged a report of police monitoring traffic at Marin and Talbot after a crossing guard advised police that operators of vehicles were ignoring the crossing guard stop sign. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Battery at Albany High – At 3:43 p.m., a person in the police lobby reported that the person's son was the victim of battery at Albany High School today. The victim refused a medical response. Disposition: Case report taken.

Attempted theft of Honda CRX – At 3:56 p.m., police received a report that someone tried to steal the reporting party's 1991 Honda CRX from her driveway on Dartmouth sometime Monday or Tuesday. The driver's exterior door lock and the ignition were damaged during the attempted theft. The reporting party said her car had been recently stolen and located in a separated Albany Police Department case and that she would like this attempted theft to be recorded and for police to conduct extra patrols in the area when/if possible. Disposition: Log note only.

Can you give me Phoenix? – At 4 p.m., police received a 911 call from someone asking for Phoenix, Ariz. The person meant to dial 411. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.

Bonfire at castle on Albany Bulb – At 7:29 p.m., police received a report of a bonfire at the concrete castle at Albany Bulb. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Barking terrier 
– At 8:38 p.m., police received a report of a terrier barking in house with the window open in the 1000 block of Peralta. The dog also barked all day on Wednesday. Disposition: Message left.

Dogs at dog park after hours 
– At 9:18 p.m., police received a complaint of a person with four dogs at the dog park next to Memorial Park after allowed hours. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.
