Police Calls: Home Burglary, Bike Theft, Shoplifting, Wallets Found

The Albany police log for March 27-28 includes a home burglary on Brighton, a bike taken from a back yard on Key Route, thefts from Radio Shack and Target, a case of stalking, and arrests for DUI and for outstanding warrants.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Wednesday, March 27

Auto theft – At 12:37 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle stolen within the past hour at Supercuts on Solano.

Stalking – At 1:26 p.m., a psychotherapist reported a female client being stalked. Disposition: Log note only.

Target theft – At 5:08 p.m., Target security reported that a transient stole alcohol and may be on Frontage Road. Police were unable to locate the transient.

Residential burglary – At 8:18 p.m., police received a report from a resident on Brighton who had left early in the morning that the residence was ransacked.

Thursday, March 28

DUI arrest – A male door installer from Richmond was arrested at 1 a.m. in the 700 block of Jackson on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more.

DUI arrest – An Oakland male was arrested at 1:19 a.m. at 1220 San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more.

Warrant arrest – A Berkeley male was arrested at 8:32 a.m. at 1000 San Pablo Avenue on an outstanding warrant.

Bike theft – An off-white Gary Fisher Simple City 8 bicycle was reported stolen from a backyard on Key Route between Sunday and Monday morning.

Warrant arrest – A Hercules man who was walking back and forth with his hands in his pockets at a salon at 540 San Pablo Ave. was arrested at 11:44 a.m.  on an outstanding warrant.

Found wallets – At 1:15 p.m., a person in the police lobby turned in wallets foud at Happy Donut on San Pablo.

Radio Shack theft – At 2:34 p.m., police received a report of a theft of phone charger that had just happened at Radio Shack on San Pablo Avenue. The suspect was described as an African-American woman about 19-24 years old, 5-feet, 8 inches tall, with a pink t-shirt and blue jeans last seen leaving in a gold Mercedes with paper plates with black lettering going north on San Pablo and then east on Brighton.
