Police Calls: Indecent Exposure Arrest on BART Path, Smoking Manholes

The Albany police log for Aug. 9 includes an arrest for indecent exposure on the Ohlone Greenway, smoke coming from manholes near Saint Mary's College High, a person pushed down by a "road rage driver" and wallets stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Aug. 8

Indecent exposure
– At 9:27 a.m., police received a report of an older man exposing himself to the reporting party while on the BART path (Ohlone Greenway) at Marin. The man was last seen walking toward Solano. Disposition: Case report taken.

Indecent exposure, outstanding warrant arrest 
– At 9:50 a.m., police arrested a 57-year-old Berkeley man on the Ohlone Greenway near Brighton and El Cerrito Plaza on suspicion of indecent exposure and on an outstanding warrant.

Vehicle vandalism – At 10:26 a.m., a person in the lobby reported a cold case of vandalism to his vehicle on Stannage that happened on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Disposition: Log note only.

Person pushed down in road-rage assault – At 1:50 p.m., police received a 911 call from person reporting being pushed to the ground at San Pablo and Washington by a "road rage driver" in a green Honda Civic. Disposition: Log note only.

Smoke coming out of manholes near Saint Mary's – At 4:03 p.m., a mail carrier reported to police that smoke was coming out of two manholes on Posen near the entrance to Saint Mary's College High. Disposition: Log note only.

Wallets, checks, iPod stolen from unlocked vehicle – At 7:37 p.m., police received a report of a black shoulder bag with a short strap taken from from an unlocked vehicle in the hundred block of Kains between 5:45-6 p.m. Loss included a large pouch with zipper containing two wallets, a checkbook, miscellaneous checks and a small iPod. Disposition: Case report taken.
