Police Calls: Lewd Behavior, the Bass is Back, Talbot Stone Throwers, "10 Large Turkeys"

NOV. 17

11:08 a.m. Police gave a warning to a whose neighbor reported being disturbed by the noise. 

1:09 p.m. Police gave a warning to a construction worker driving a fork lift on the sidewalk at the site of an apartment complex fire at earlier this year. (One woman died in the blaze.)

1:29 p.m. Someone from called the Albany Police Department to report a woman in labor in one of the . This area is in Berkeley, so the dispatcher referred the caller to the appropriate emergency services agency.

2:08 p.m. A cyclist and teenage girl driving a red Pontiac Vibe collided at Curtis Street and Solano. No injuries were reported. 

2:41 p.m. Police arrested Andre Lavon Crowe of Emeryville, at Buchanan Street, on suspicion of burglary, embezzlement, forgery and elder abuse. He was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer Jail in downtown Oakland. (He no longer appeared to be in custody as of Nov. 23, according to the Alameda County sheriff's department inmate locator website.)

8:46 p.m. Residents on Talbot Avenue reported that rocks had been thrown at their home regularly at night for seven months. They told police the stone throwers had begun striking in the daytime as well. Log note only.

NOV. 18

7:50 a.m. A woman walking at Talbot and Brighton . The police investigation is still underway.

10:38 a.m. Groceries left on one resident's front porch were stolen the prior day from a home on Stannage Avenue. The caller told police a friend had left the groceries on his porch, but he had been away overnight.

1:27 p.m. A resident in the 700 block of Taft Avenue reported that items had been removed from his or her unlocked vehicle the prior night. 

6:15 p.m. A verbal dispute between two men at Golden Gate Fields escalated into a fight; both men were thrown out by security. A 54-year-old Oakland resident is seeking criminal charges against a 57-year-old Hayward resident, according to Albany Police Lt. Dan Adams. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests had been made as of Nov. 22.

9:12 p.m. Albany firefighters responded to Berkeley to help fight . 

NOV. 19

9:49 a.m. Someone reported a flock of "10 large turkeys on the corner" of Buchanan Street and San Pablo Avenue. The caller was "concerned about them causing an accident."

1:29 p.m. Someone went into the police department to report a fight the prior night at . He or she was attacked by a known subject with a chair, then slammed into the ground. Racetrack security had asked those involved with the fight to leave. Case report taken.

NOV. 20

12:27 a.m. Police arrested Michael Hatch of Berkeley on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue. He was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer Jail.

1:45 a.m. Police arrested James Charles Brooks of Vallejo on suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 580 near Central Avenue. He was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer Jail.

1:56 p.m. Someone on Evelyn Avenue reported receiving a harrassing phone call, and asked to speak with police.
