Police Calls: Loud Hot Tub Drinkers, Church, Outdoor Group and Dog

The Albany police logs for Aug. 17-18 include complaints about noise from several sources: a church, people drinking in a hot tub, a dog and a group outdoors near 2 a.m. Also reported was a rolled-back odometer on a car from Craigslist.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Saturday, Aug. 17

DUI arrest – At 2:34 a.m., police arrested a male, whose occupation was listed as a supervisor, at 635 San Pablo on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Deer in Gill Tract – At 7:50 p.m., police received a report of three deer in the Gill Tract near the fence next to San Pablo. Disposition: Log note only.

Man hanging out in middle of street – At 9:03 p.m., police received a report of a "very thin" man with a beard in his 30s hanging out in the middle of the street at Neilson and Albany Terrace. Disposition: Log note only.

Underaged teens at party – At 10:24 p.m., police received a report from a resident on Washington who wished to remain anonymous saying an "underage party" was taking place in a nearby house and that a lot of teenagers are expected to be there. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Drunk/disorderly arrest – At 10:41 p.m., police arrested a female, whose occupation was listed as unemployed, at Solano and Talbot on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a 10:29 p.m. report of a distressed female at the same location saying she was being attacked.

Male suffering from anxiety – At 11:32 p.m., police received a report from a male saying he is having a lot of problems, is having anxiety and is sweating profusely. He declined medical attention. Disposition: Log note only.

Sunday, Aug. 18

Domestic battery arrest 
– At 1:14 a.m., police arrested a female in the 1100 block of Portland on suspicion of domestic battery.

Warning after physical altercation at Mallard – At 1:29 a.m., police logged a report of a physical altercation at Club Mallard. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Loud group on Talbot – At 1:58 a.m., police received a report of a loud group with yelling for the past two ours outdoors on Talbot near Washington. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Hit and run – At 2:15 a.m., police received a report silver Honda hit at Polk and Solano in a hit and run. The suspect was last seen going west on Solano. Disposition: Log note only.

Vehicles parked where they shouldn't be – At 5:19 a.m., police received a report of a Toyota Previa van and a Mitsubishi Lancer parked in the driveway of an empty house for sale. The reporting party spoke with the home owner, who said no one should be parked there. Disposition: Log note only.

Odometer rolled back on vehicle bought on Craigslist – At 11:14 a.m., a person reported that the odometer of a vehicle purchased on Craigslist from an Albany resident had been rolled back and documented as such on the title. The reporting party would like a callback for advice. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Bike stolen – At 3:24 p.m., police received a report of bicycle stolen sometime this weekend from a side yard on Key Route. Disposition: Case report taken.

Howling dog – At 5:44 p.m., police received a report of dog howling in the 800 block of Carmel. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

DUI arrest – At 7:08 p.m., police arrested a male chef at San Pablo and Adams on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Loud church music – At 7:49 p.m., police received a complaint about loud amplified music coming weekly from a nearby church on Marin. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Noisy drinkers in hot tub – At 11:27 p.m., police received a complaint about subjects in a hot tub being loud and drinking on Pierce. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

DUI arrest – At 11:26 p.m., police arrested a male, whose occupation was listed as retired, Buchanan and I-80 on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more.
