Police Calls: More Dog Complaints, Albany Hill Camp, 2 Drivers Arrested

The Albany police log for June 8-9 includes a pitbull acting aggressively at Memorial Park, a dog barking at 4:30 a.m., camping and trash on Albany Hill, two driver arrests, and a person being told to pay for an unwanted bumper repair.

The following information was obtained from the 
Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Saturday, June 8

Driving on invalid license arrest – At 12:55 a.m., police arrested an Antioch female at Buchanan and I-80 on suspicion of driving on a suspended or invalid license.

Camping on Albany Hill – At 2:35 p.m., police received a complaint about a transient camp leaving trash along a park path at Albany Hill. The reporting party would like officer contact and is willing to show officers the camp. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Unwanted bumper repair and payment demand – At 6:45 p.m., a reporting party told police that a friend was approached outside Safeway to have the reporting party's bumper fixed. The friend said she didn't have money and went into the store. When she came out, the bumper was repaired. The friend gave the reporting party's number to the subjects. The reporting party is now receiving calls from the subject stating she owes them money and would like to be contacted by police. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Magazines swiped at Jay Vee Liquors – At 9:51 p.m., police received a report of a man on a bike stealing magazines at Jay Vee Liquors about 20 minutes earlier. The suspect was described as white with a beard and a big backpack. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Sunday, June 9 

Arrest after DUI stop – At 2:19 a.m., police stopped a driver at the Buchanan Interchange on suspicion of driving under the influence. Disposition: Arrest made.

Tent on Albany Hill – At 9:26 a.m., police received a report of a tent on Albany Hill with people possibly living in it. To reach it, enter from Hillside then go to the right, almost to the top of the hill. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Broken tree limb hanging over vehicle – At 9:34 a.m., police received a report of a fallen tree limb hanging over a vehicle but not touching it on Buchanan. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Dog barking at 4:30 a.m. – At 10:27 a.m., a person on Carmel reported that she heard a neigbhor's dog barking at 4:30 a.m. She did not want to call and make a report at that time because she was trying to sleep. Disposition: Log note only.

Male on mic at Marin and San Pablo – At 5:32 p.m., police received a disturbing-the-peace complaint a male with mic on and off since 10 a.m. all weekend at San Pablo and Marin. Disposition: Log note only.

Pitbull complaint at Memorial Park – At 6:18 p.m., police received a complaint of a pitbull acting aggressively toward other animals at Memorial Park, saying the owner has limited control over the dog. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.
