Police Calls: Nine Offices Burglarized with Interior Doors Smashed

The Albany police log for Oct. 18 includes nine offices burglarized with doors smashed on Solano, a stolen vehicle, an assault on the Taco Bell manager, an arrest for petty theft at Target, two men trying to steal a bike and a large group ejected.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Oct. 18

Nine offices burglarized, doors smashed – At 5:18 a.m., police logged a report of nine offices broken into on Solano with interior doors smashed. All the offices were prowled, and a chiropractic office may have medications missing. 

Vehicle stolen
– At 11:04 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle theft. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Taco Bell manager assaulted
– At 11:54 a.m., police received a report that an aggressive man in his 30s dressed in a black hoodie and black jacket pushed and hit the store manager. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Burglary arrest 
– Police arrested a 34-year-old Oakland man at Target on suspicion of burglary and possessing burglary tools with criminal intent. (Editor's note: No time is listed for the arrest, but it apparently is the same one noted in a 11:59 a.m. report at Target of petty theft by a man in his 30s wearing a blue Superman t-shirt and gray beanie.)

Two men trying to steal bicycle – At 1:31 p.m., police received a report of two men trying to steal a bicycle at West End and Ohlone near Building 164. Disposition: Assistance given to outside agency.

Counterfeit $100 bill at Target – At 10:12 p.m., police received a report of a man at the front of Target passing a confirmed counterfeit $100 bill. He is now departing with a second subject in an older black Toyota Camry. The man was described as white, about 35-40 years old and wearing a gray beanie and blue sweater. Disposition: Case report taken.

Problem-causing group kicked out – At 10:26 p.m., police received a report of a large group of 14-15 being kicked out on San Pablo Avenue. They were causing problems all night and brought in outside alcohol. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K. (Editor's note: The log item does not indicate who kicked the group out or where they were kicked out from.)
