Police Calls: Phone Thefts, Problems at Albany High, Much Disorderly Conduct

The Albany police log for Nov. 1 includes one phone stolen at Albany High and another at 7-Eleven, shoplifting at Am/Pm, a screaming woman kicking Safeway walls and the arrest of a very intoxicated man at Golden Gate Fields.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Nov. 1

DUI arrest – At 2:36 a.m., police arrested a 37-year-old Antioch man at Buchanan and Pierce on suspicion of driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or more.

Female screaming, kicking Safeway wall 
– At 6:24 a.m., police received a report of a female screaming and kicking the walls in the Safeway parking lot. She's possibly high on narcotics. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Noisy man in white hat taking recyclables
– At 6:38 a.m., police received a report of a man in a light tan coat and white hat taking recyclables and making a lot of noise on Talbot. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Student problem at Albany High
– At 9:45 a.m., police received a report from Albany High's attendance office saying they have a student "that had H&S." They request that an officer destroy the H&S. Disposition: Case report taken. (Editor's note: "H&S" in this instance may refer to the California Health & Safety Code, which covers drug possession among other violations.)

Identity theft – At 10:18 a.m., police logged a report that an unknown person opened a credit account using the reporting party's information. Disposition: Case report taken.

Shoplifting at Am/Pm
– At 1:15 p.m., police received a report of a man in his 30s caught shoplifting at the Arco Am/Pm on San Pablo. The reporting party says the suspect is not resisting and wants him arrested. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Phone stolen at Albany High
– At 4:09 p.m., police received a report that the phone of the daughter of the reporting party was stolen during a rally at Albany High between 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday. Disposition: Case report taken.

iPhone stolen at 7-Eleven
– 5:14 p.m., police received a report that a black iPhone 4S was taken about 1:30 a.m. the previous evening at the 7-Eleven on Solano and has been tracked by GPS to Tracy. The reporting party is in the police lobby. 

Hit and run with damage at Target
– At 5:35 p.m., police logged a report of a hit and run with damage on Oct. 20 in the parking lot at Target. The rear bumper was damaged on the passenger side. Disposition: Log note only.

Drunk/disorderly arrest at Golden Gate Fields
– At 6:28 p.m., police arrested a 55-year-old Richmond man at Golden Gate Fields on suspicion of being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The arrest followed a 6:17 p.m. report from the racetrack of a very intoxicated man at the Club House.
