MAY 30, WEDNESDAY

8:23 a.m. A resident reported a theft from a vehicle on Curtis Street. 

9:25 a.m. Police gave a warning to a man selling fruit at Masonic and Washington avenues.

10:53 a.m. Police gave another warning to the same man, who was setting up boxes of strawberries for sale at Masonic and Washington.

5:10 p.m. Police gave a warning to a woman outside Albany Bowl who was throwing things on the sidewalk. 

5:41 p.m. Police took a case report about two people stealing baby formula and other items from Safeway.

6:39 p.m. Someone reported a man standing at Ramona and Solano avenues saying he was homeless and had AIDS. Police were unable to locate him.

7:49 p.m. A thief stole a laptop and wireless card from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue.

7:55 p.m. Police gave a warning to a man who reportedly defecated on the sidewalk and urinated on a tree. 

MAY 31, THURSDAY

Midnight. Police arrested Barbara Hulley of Berkeley on a misdemeanor warrant; she was released on a citation with a promise to appear in court. 

2:39 a.m. Police arrested Katherine Fowler of Richmond on suspicion of driving under the influence and resisting arrest at San Pablo and Solano avenues. She was taken to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in downtown Oakland.

6:30 a.m. Someone reported a man on Cerrito Street collecting recycling. Police were unable to locate him. 

4:34 p.m. Someone reported a petty theft in the 800 block of San Pablo that may have occurred that morning. Police took a case report. 

5:25 p.m. A resident on Cornell Avenue returned home to find a bike chained to the front steps. 

5:43 p.m. Someone went into the Police Department to discuss a battery case that happened "earlier" on Key Route Boulevard.

6:23 p.m. Someone stole a bike from the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue. 

6:55 p.m. Vandals spray painted a cargo van in the 600 block of Kains Avenue. 

6:38 p.m. A thief stole a FasTrak device from an unsecured vehicle in the 1100 block of Portland Avenue. 

8:23 p.m. Someone reported fresh graffiti on Kains.

JUNE 1, FRIDAY

12:53 a.m. Police arrested Gerelkhuu Enkhtsetseg of Richmond on suspicion of driving under the influence and providing false identification to police at Buchanan and Taylor streets. He was taken to Glenn Dyer jail. 

9:12 a.m. A thief stole a purse and wallet out of a vehicle in the 900 block of Cornell. 

10:27 a.m. A resident on Masonic reported neighbors who "keep dumping bags of garbage at the park."

11:31 a.m. A vandal smashed a vehicle window and stole a bag from the 1200 block of Posen Avenue. 

11:33 a.m. Someone reported a white man in a white bandanna and black clothing who was walking south on San Pablo "carrying 2 plastic swords" and "occasionally swing(ing) them in the air." Police gave him a warning.

11:50 a.m. Police investigated possible vandalism and burglary at Saint Mary's College High School, in the 1200 block of Albina Avenue. 

12:02 p.m. Albany Police called a beekeeper to collect a large swarm of bees in a tree in the west lot at City Hall. 

5:20 p.m. Someone prowled the trunk of a car on Key Route and left the side door open, but didn't appear to have taken anything. 

5:57 p.m. Someone went to the Albany Police Department to report attempted extortion. 

9:41 p.m. A thief stole a computer from someone near the railroad tracks at Target. Police took a case report. 

10:54 p.m. Officers checked on a man lying on the sidewalk on San Pablo. 

11:40 p.m. Police arrested Alicia D'Ann Eggold of Richmond on suspicion of public intoxication at San Pablo and Solano avenues. She was taken to the Glenn Dyer jail.

  • On May 25, the San Mateo Police Department reported the arrest of Brenna Condon, 31, of Albany on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • On May 26, the Albany Police Department reported the arrest of Rebecca Ruisman, 33, of Albany on suspicion of driving under the influence. 
  • On May 27, the El Cerrito Police Department reported the arrest of an Albany teenage boy on suspicion of possessing an ounce or less of marijuana while driving, and driving under the influence. (The minor's name originally was included here, but was removed when we were informed that the person named was not an adult.)
  • On May 27, the El Cerrito Police Department reported the arrest of Castillo Santino of Albany on suspicion of resisting arrest.
  • On May 28, the Santa Barbara sheriff's department reported the arrest of Alfred Chico, 53, of Albany on suspicion public intoxication.
  • On May 31, the Tulare sheriff's department reported the arrest of Steven Easley, 24, of Albany on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
  • On May 31, the Contra Costa division of the California Highway Patrol reported the arrest of Aaron Hardin, 46, of Albany on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
