Police Calls: Target Theft Arrest, Raging Boyfriend, Shoeless Dancer Warned

Albany police logs for Jan. 15-16 include a man arrested for trying to take alcohol at Target, a city vehicle hit by another vehicle while parked during construction work, a naked man in a wheelchair on San Pablo and check fraud against a business.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

Burglary – 10:06 a.m. TV room motion and front door, on Brighton. Disposition: Case report taken.

Alcohol theft arrest – 12:35 p.m. A 49-year-old Daly City man was arrested at Target on suspicion of petty theft. (Editor's note: the arrest occurred following an 12:21 theft report of a man attempting to push alcohol out of Target.)

Parked city vehicle hit – 12:59 p.m. A non-injury accident in which vehicle hit a city vehicle parked during construction work. Disposition: Case report taken.

Naked man in wheelchair – 1:14 p.m. A naked man in his 60s in a wheelchair in front of Jay-Vee Liquors. Disposition: Matter or reported situation checks out O.K.

Non-injury accident – 2:56 p.m. Non-injury accident involving a gray Mercedes and a red pick-up eastbound on Marin. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Window tampering – 4:13 p.m. Noticed fingerprints and handprint on kitchen and bedroom windows, footprints outside and screen over window tampered with on Madison. May have occurred a week ago. Disposition: Log note only.

Warning for dancing man without shoes – 4:46 p.m. Tall thin an who appears to be a transient dancing around not wearing shoes on Masonic. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

Check fraud – 5:01 p.m. Reporting party's business had someone writing fictitious checks with the business' account number on them. Disposition: Case report taken.

911 call, bicyclist down – 5:13 p.m. 911 call of a bicyclist down at Lynn and Ashbury in El Cerrito. Transferred caller to Richmond police 911 dispatch. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Disturbance of the peace – 7:19 p.m. Board meeting taking place at clubhouse plaza level. Reporting party said she made an announcement at meeting regarding restraining order service on a security officer, has been asked to leave, but feels she has a right to be there. Will 98 pd at security office asking for subject to be removed from meeting. Disposition: Case report taken.

Petty theft – 9:10 p.m. Officer initiated activity at Pierce. Disposition: Case report taken.

911 call, female being stalked – 9:39 p.m. Female being stalked on Sacramento near North Berkeley  BART. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Thursday, Jan. 16

DUI, suspended license arrest – A 33-year-old Richmond man was arrested at San Pablo and Garfield on suspicion of driving under the influence and on a suspended license.

Cell phones stolen – 9:55 a.m. White hoodie, tan jacket, took cell phones on Taylor. Disposition: Follow-up complete.

Conspiring, commercial burglary arrests – 10:43 a.m. A 23-year-old San Pablo man and 21-year-old Hayward woman were arrested at 900 Jackson and 900 Taylor respectively on suspicion of commercial burglary and conspiring to commit a crime.

911 call, attack by mental health patient – 12:28 p.m. "Occurred on San Pablo, Elcerrit. Subj called 911 reporting a MH patient trying to attack her, she is requesting assistance with a 5150. When I transferred to RFD 911 it just ran numerous times and then made an odd sound and disconnected. I then tried calling the direct PD dispatch number and it just rang without an answer. I called ECPD and spoke with their receptionist and provided the address and telephone number of the caller. Disposition: Log note only."

Theft – 1:53 p.m. "Occurred at Solano/Key Route, Albany. 528 i was stolen approx. 2 prior original incident was cancelled due to other 911 call. Disposition: Case report taken."

Identity theft – 6:35 p.m. "Officer initiated activity at Albany Police, San Pablo, Albany.. Disposition: Case report taken."

Warning to men who attempted to steal things – 6:51 p.m. Two men in their 30s refusing to leave at Golden Gate Fields. Language barrier. Were in suspicious area of track earlier, now in north lot near trailers. Tried to steal some items earlier. Reporting party trying to get them to leave, but they have not. Disposition: Miscellaneous violation – warning given.

911 call, yelling boyfriend throwing things – 9:39 p.m. on Kains. 38-year-old boyfriend is yelling, throwing things around and is out of control. Unknown weapons. Could be heard in background. Reporting party says she does not know his name, says they have been drinking. Boyfriend is 6'4" with shaved head, black shirt, large backpack and guitar. Reporting party says she is traumatized and wants to go to sleep. Disposition: Disputing parties separated – matter resolved.
