Police Calls: Thefts of Jet Ski, Phone, GPS, Identity, Amazon Package, Garbage Can

The Albany police logs for Oct. 23-24 include unwanted large plants, aggressive dogs at Albany Bulb and multiple thefts: a jet ski, personal identity, an Amazon package, a phone at Albany Middle School, a GPS from an auto and a garbage can.

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Wednesday, Oct. 23

Drug paraphernalia, vandalism arrest – At 10:27 a.m., police arrested a 39-year-old Tracy man at 1000 Eastshore on suspicion of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia and vandalism with damage to property. The arrest followed a 10:02 a.m. report of an officer-initiated stop of a pedestrian at Buchanan and Eastshore.

Past phone theft at Middle School – At 2:11 p.m., police received a report of cold phone theft from May at Albany Middle School. Disposition: Case report taken.

Theft at CVS – At 4:45 p.m., police received a report of petty theft by a man aged 28-35 and a woman aged 38 at CVS Pharmacy on Solano. They were last seen i the 900 block of Ramona heading toward Marin. Disposition: Log note only.

Auto burglary, suspect seen – At 5:06 p.m., police received a report of an auto burglary five minutes earlier at Lumber Liquidators on Eastshore. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and was last seen going southbound in a blue Toyota Corolla. Disposition: Case report taken.

Garbage can stolen – At 6:49 p.m., police received a report of a garbage can stolen on Masonic. Disposition: Log note only.

Aggressive dogs at Albany Bulb – At 7:12 p.m., police received a complaint of dogs being aggressive at on the south side dirt trail leading into the tent area by the beach at Albany Bulb. One was a black lab with a lease and no owner. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Package from Amazon stolen – At 7:29 p.m., police received a report of a package from Amazon being taken on Evelyn approximately between 6:10 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. Disposition: Log note only.

Debris, housewares along Albany Bulb fence – A 9:04 p.m. log entry of officer-initiated activity at Albany Bulb reported lots of debris and housewares along the south fence of the waterfront. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Thursday, Oct. 24

Credit card fraud at Target – At 6:15 a.m., police received a report from Walnut Creek police of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card at Target. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 8:50 a.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident involving a Honda and a parked BMW on Adams. Disposition: Case report taken.

Noisy neighbor – At 11:39 a.m., a resident asked to speak to an officer about a neighbor sleeping in the garage on Brighton and making noise throughout the night. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Annoying calls from purported credit card representatives – At 12:51 p.m., police received a complaint of annoying calls from people claiming to represent a credit card company. The reporting party would like telephone contact. Disposition: Miscellaneous public service provided.

Unruly customers at Petsmart – At 1:15 p.m., police received a complaint of unruly male customers at Petsmart. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Identity theft – At 1:30 p.m., police received a report that someone was using the reporting party's information to open credit card accounts. Disposition: Case report taken.

Jet ski stolen – At 2:12 p.m., police received a grand theft report of the cold theft of a jet ski on Madison. Disposition: Case report taken.

Juveniles throwing trash on roadway – At 3:55 p.m., police received a report of 3-4 male juveniles in a vehicle at Brighton and Kains eating and throwing trash on the roadway. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Unwanted large plants delivered – At 6:19 p.m., police received a complaint of two large plants delivered in front of the reporting party's house on Washington. The reporting party did not order plants and does not think they belong to his neighbors. He would like Public Works to remove them. Disposition: Matter/persons referred to outside agency.

Hit and run with damage – At 6:41 p.m., police received a report of a hit and run with damage to the reporting party's vehicle the Hotsy Totsy. A third party has the license plate number of the responsible vehicle, which has already departed. Disposition: Case report taken.

GPS, other items taken from auto – At 7:44 p.m., police received a report of cold auto burglary on Stannage in which a GPS and other items were stolen. Disposition: Log note only.
