The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.
Monday, April 15
Lost keys – At 11:33 a.m., a man in the police lobby reported that he'd lost his keys approximately two months earlier on the center lawn strip of Key Route between Portland and Washington. They were described as seven keys on a heavy steel ring, including a Volvo key with black plastic on one end, a green or possibly red house key and Yakima luggage rack keys.
Reckless driver with cell phone – At 1:29 p.m., a person reported almost being hit by a distracted driver using a cell phone at Sante Fe and Marin.
Found purse – At 2:33 p.m., a person in the police lobby reported finding a purse at Pierce and Solano.
Found cracked safe deposit box on sidewalk – At 4:35, a person reported finding a safe deposit box on the sidewalk at Calhoun and Pierce. It appeared to be cracked open.
Broken street sign turned in – At 6:29 p.m., a street sign that was found broken off on Pierce was brought into the police department lobby.
iPhone stolen at St. Mary's – At 9:35 p.m., police received a report of an iPhone stolen today at St. Mary's high school. The reporting party was tracking the phone in Berkeley, and Berkeley referred the party to Albany police to make an initial report.
Tuesday, April 16
Drunk or disorderly taken to hospital – A 1:50 a.m. log entry of officer initiated activity at Designer Hair Care on San Pablo says a person who was "very 647f" (a section of the California Penal Code referring to being under the influence to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way) was transported to a hospital.
Suspicious circumstance – At 10:03 a.m., a person on Key Route reported receiving a call today saying he'd won the Publishers Clearing House lottery but that he would have to provide a money card from Walgreens to pay the taxes when they came by at 2 p.m. today. Disposition: Log note only.
Pitbull attack – At 10:59 a.m., a caller reported being attacked and taken to the ground by three pitbulls who were under a carport cover at a camp at the Albany Bulb when the reporting party attended his cousin's memorial service. The reporting party disconnected.
Email threat – At 11:49 a.m., police received a report of a threatening email sent to a student from another student at St. Mary's high school. The reporting party has suspended one student so far.
Warrant arrest – At 1:38 p.m., a female from Hercules was arrested at 1245 Portland Avenue on an outstanding warrant and suspicion of a parole violation.
Burglary? – At 7:41 p.m., a woman reported that she thinks someone entered her unlocked home on Kains while she was home and stole her keys.
