Police Calls: Man Acting Strange with Cell Phone, Repeat Defecator at Law Firm Driveway

The following information was obtained from the daily incident log and arrest log of the Albany Police Department.

Friday, Dec. 6

Injury accident – At 7:45 a.m., police logged a report of a vehicle collision at Buchanan and San Pablo with two parties complaining of chest pain. Disposition: Case report taken.

Suspicious man with cell phone – At 8:28 a.m., a person told police that a man standing on the corner of Johnson and Cleveland pulls out his cell phone when the reporting party drives by. The reporting party has seen the same man approximately three times this week. The man was described as white, tall and skinny wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, jacket and some kind of name tag or name badge around his neck. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.

Recycling cans stolen – At 3:08 p.m., a person reported that three large gray recycling cans have been stolen from her rental property in the 500 block of Stannage within the past two weeks. There are no suspects or witnesses, and the reporting party is reporting only for the purpose of having a record. Disposition: Log note only.

Dispute at Metro PCS – At 3:11 p.m., police received a report from someone who claims to have been defrauded by Metro PCS on San Pablo. Disposition: Disputing parties separated – matter resolved.

Non-injury accident – At 3:34 p.m., police received a report of a minor, non-injury traffic collision involving a black Honda in which the two parties are having difficulty exchanging information. Disposition: Log note only.

Repeated defecation at law firm driveway – At 3:52 p.m., police received a report that an unknown person keeps defecating at the end of an extended driveway at the rear of Cheasty Law Firm on Solano. The reporting party wishes extra patrol if possible. Disposition: Log note only.

Backpack found – At 7:36 p.m., a person brought a backpack found on Pierce into the police lobby. Disposition: Case report taken.

Kids making much noise – At 11:45 p.m., anonymous party reported kids in the area making lots of noise on Kains. Disposition: Unable to locate source of complaint.
