Police Calls: More Indecent Exposure, Man Aiming Possibly Fake Gun

The Albany police log for May 13-14 includes a man aiming a possibly fake gun at people near Albany Middle School, another case of a man exposing himself, and an off-leash pit bull mix chasing people at waterfront park.

The following information was obtained from the Albany Police Department's daily incident log and its arrest reports.

Monday, May 13

Injury accident – At 7:38 a.m., an injury accident involving a vehicle and bicycle was reported at One Hour Martinizing on Solano. Disposition: Case report taken.

Man exposes himself – At 8 a.m., police received a report of a man whistling to get the attention of the reporting party about 20 minutes earlier and then exposing himself at Sante Fe and Key Route. The man was described as white in his 30s with dark hair and a backpack. Disposition: Case report taken. [Editor's note: This incident appears to fit a pattern of indecent exposure incidents that were the subject of a May 17 police alert.]

Non-injury accident – At 10:12 p.m., police logged a report of a non-injury accident with minor damage at Madison and Solano involving a light blue Honda and a motorcycle. Disposition: Log note only.

Man near Middle School aiming long gun at people – At 3:06 p.m., a man was reported carrying a long gun, possibly fake, and aiming it a people near Albany Middle School. The man was described as black, 6-feet tall, bald, wearing a black coat and carrying a red duffle bag. He was seen going north on the BART path. Disposition: Case report taken.

Injury accident – At 6:07 p.m., police logged a report of an accident with an ambulance en route involving two vehicles at Kains and Washington. Disposition: Subject/s transported to hospital. 

Auto theft – At 6:44 p.m., a vehicle theft was reported that occurred between 5 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. from a parking garage on Pierce. Disposition: Case report taken.

Outstanding warrant arrest – At 8:20 p.m., police logged a report of two men behind a bush looking into a garage facing Pierce near Ranch 99 Market. Police arrested a stockman from Oakland on an outstanding warrant.

Residential burglary – At 11:18 p.m., police logged a report of a residential burglary on Key Route. Entry was made through a window. Disposition: Case report taken.

Tuesday, May 14

Auto theft – At 8:01 a.m., a vehicle was reported during the night on Hillside. Disposition: Case report taken.

Non-injury accident – At 10:24 a.m., police logged a report of a non-injury accident in which a vehicle hit a wall at Kelly Moore Paints on San Pablo. Disposition: Log note only. 

Unleashed dog chasing people at waterfront park – At 3:23 p.m., police received a report of a man with a young boy at the waterfront park allowing an unleashed white pitbull mix to chase people. Disposition: Responsible/s advised of complaint, will correct situation.

Non-injury accident – At 5 p.m., police logged a non-injury accident involving two vehicles on Stannage. Disposition: Log note only. 

Attempted forgery at Target – At 8:16 p.m., police logged a report of a woman trying to pass a fake check with a fake ID at Target. She was described as white, petit build, 5-feet 2-inches tall, with blond hair and tattoos on her neck. She left in a silver Range Rover onto Eastshore. Disposition: Case report taken.
