Police Raid Massage Parlor on San Pablo Ave., Arrest 2 in Sting

Two women were arrested for alleged prostitution in a raid by more than a dozen police officers late Thursday following a police sting operation at H & Y Massage on San Pablo Avenue, a half block north of Solano Avenue in Albany, according to police.

In a police sting operation, two women were arrested on suspicion of prostitution late Thursday during a raid by more than a dozen police officers at the H&Y Massage parlor on San Pablo Avenue near Solano Avenue in Albany, police said.

After investigating complaints of prostitution at the business at 835 San Pablo, police staged an undercover sting operation during which two female employees solicited money from an undercover police in exchange for sex, said Albany police Detective Sgt. Art Pasoglingnan.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the business was raided by more than a dozen police officers, he said. Two employees – a Hayward woman, 43, and a San Francisco woman, 49 – were arrested without resistance on suspicion of prostitution, Pasoglingnan said.

Albany police were assisted by Alameda County Sherriff’s detectives and agents of the US Department of Homeland Security, according to police.

The total number of officers involved in the operation, including back-up and logistical support, ranged between 15 and 20, Pasoglingnan said.
