Police Seek Robbers of Check-cashing Store on San Pablo Ave.

Police are seeking two men who robbed a check-cashing business across from El Cerrito Plaza on Wednesday afternoon. The robbery at Advance America Check Cashing on San Pablo Avenue occurred at 1:10 p.m.

Two men robbed a check cashing business in El Cerrito on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The robbery was reported at 1:10 p.m. at Advance America Check Cashing at 10003 San Pablo Ave. in El Cerrito, police said.

One suspect forced a teller behind the counter to open the register by threatening to shoot her, though she didn't see a gun, according to police.

The second suspect meanwhile took the cash from the register.

The two men took off into a '90s green Buick parked on Carlson Boulevard with a license plate number similar to 4C4345.

The first suspect was described as a black man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds. He was wearing a white hard hat over a black beanie and green sunglasses as well as a black sweatshirt, black pants and a yellow reflective vest, according to police.

The second suspect is described as a short black man with a medium build who was wearing a black ski mask, a black jacket and a brown hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about the robbery has been asked to call El Cerrito police at (510) 215-4414.
