Shooting in Berkeley Sends Man to Hospital

Police say the suspect fled the area and no arrests have been made.

A man was injured in a shooting in Berkeley on Thursday night, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of San Pablo Avenue near Ashby Avenue shortly before 10 p.m., Officer Jennifer Coats said. Arriving officers found the man, a 38-year-old Berkeley resident, suffering from serious injuries and he was transported to a hospital, she said.
Coats did not know the victim's condition. Police said they learned the suspect possibly fled to the area of the 1300 block of Ashby Avenue.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect after an extensive search of the area, according to Coats.
