Shooting on San Pablo in El Cerrito, Victims Vanish

Shots were fired from one car into another on San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito yesterday, Saturday, police said. The shooter escaped, and the victims contacted a nearby ambulance but left without receiving treatment, police said.

Police in El Cerrito continue to investigate a Saturday afternoon shooting in which the victims fled the scene, refusing medical help.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue at about 1:55 p.m., police said.

An investigation determined that a male in a car shot at another car with people inside, according to police.

The shooter then fled the scene, last seen on Interstate Highway 80, police said.

The victims stopped to contact paramedics at a nearby ambulance that was in the area, but before receiving treatment, they fled the area, according to police.

(An alert from El Cerrito police said the shooter was described as a black man in a newer, gray, four-door vehicle.)
