Suspected Prowlers Arrested on Calhoun Street on Friday

Police also took reports Saturday for a residential burglary on Calhoun, and another on Jackston Street.

Police arrested three prowlers on Calhoun Street, and a cache of burglary tools, early Friday morning. 

At 5:55 a.m., Albany Police officers responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Calhoun for a suspicious person report, said Sgt. Chris Willis of the .

Officers located and arrested Kalan Fowler, 35, of Berkeley in the secured garage area of the complex.

They also found and arrested Antonio Saunders, 31, of Berkeley on the complex grounds. 

Nearby, officers arrested Savon Reese, 38, of Oakland after finding him on Pierce Street.

Willis said police also "recovered a cache" of burglary tools. 

Fowler was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, prowling, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools. According to the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, his arraignment is set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in downtown Oakland. 

He is being held in Santa Rita Jail with a bail of $30,000.

Saunders was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, possession of burglary tools and parole violation. The Alameda County Sheriff's Department did not have additional information on him.

Reese was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and probation violation. 

He is being held in Santa Rita Jail with a bail of $50,000.

His arraignment is set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse.

Police also received a report of a residential burglary in the 700 block of Calhoun on Saturday at 9:20 p.m., and another in the 600 block of Jackson Street just before midnight. No additional information about these reports was available as of Monday morning.
