At some point during the pursuit, the driver crashed the car into the front yard of a home on Navellier Street, according to police.

The driver and a passenger got out of the car and fled on foot, heading through neighboring backyards.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspects until around midnight, when an officer noticed a suspicious male near the intersection of Richmond Street and Gladys Avenue, according to police.

The officer detained the boy, who was identified by Richmond police as the 16-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle.

He was arrested and taken to juvenile hall in Martinez.
