Teen on Crutches Escapes Attempted Kidnapping

The boy was able to fight off his attacker and escape, according to police officials.

By Bay City News—

A man attempted to forcibly kidnap a 15-year-old boy who was walking with crutches on a University of California student housing complex in Albany on Friday night, according to University of California police.

At about 11:00 p.m. on Friday, the teen, who police said is not affiliated with the University of California, was walking with the assistance of crutches south on Jackson Street towards Eighth Street, university police said. When the teen reached Eighth Street on the southern border of University Village in Albany, a man driving an SUV approached him and attempted to verbally coerce and then ordered the teen to get into his vehicle, police said.

When the victim refused, the suspect maneuvered his SUV to block the victim's path. The suspect then got out of the SUV and again ordered the teen to get inside his vehicle. The victim refused and the suspect approached the teen, police said. The teen struck the suspect and yelled for help, but the suspect continued toward the victim, grabbed him and attempted to force him into the vehicle, police said.

The victim was able to free himself and escape without injuries, police said. The suspect has not been located, but is described as a white or Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old, standing about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He had a beard and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black shirt, blue jeans and construction work boots at the time of the attempted kidnapping, police said. The vehicle was described as a large black SUV, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information about the attempted kidnapping or the suspect is urged to contact the University of California Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau at (510) 642-0472 or after hours at (510) 642-6760.

there are some similarities between this attacker description and the wildcat canyon description- factor in people's nervousness and they sound even more alike. This is weird./
