The boy was charged with robbery, battery and vandalism, said Willis.

He was released to a parent with a notice to appear in Alameda County's Juvenile Probation Department.

The second incident occurred on Saturday, in the 900 block of Madison Street, when a man walking home from a local shop was accosted by three men who claimed to have a gun.

The trio took the victim's wallet, along with a six pack of beer. They reportedly fled in a vehicle parked nearby.

Police ask anyone who sees any suspicious activity to report it by calling 510-525-7300. Landlines in Albany automatically call this number when dialing 911, but police suggest that local residents program this number into their cell phones in case of an emergency.
