Two Teens Arrested, Third Escapes, After Early Morning Vehicle Burglary on Saturday
During the follow-up investigation, police determined the same suspects smashed the window earlier that evening of another vehicle parked at the same property.
Albany police arrested a 17-year-old from Albany and a 16-year-old from Oakland early Saturday morning in connection with a vehicle burglary in an apartment building parking garage near the El Cerrito Plaza Shopping Center.
A third suspect has not yet been identified, said Lt. Dan Adams of the Albany Police Department.
The names of the two suspects who were arrested were not released because they are minors.

About 2 a.m. Saturday, an Albany resident called police after finding several people burglarizing his van on Brighton Avenue. The van was in the parking garage of an apartment building on Brighton.
One of the suspects was still inside the van when the crime was discovered, Adams said.

The suspects fled into a residential block, and two of them were arrested in the back yard of a home in the 700 block of Spokane Avenue. A third suspect is still outstanding.
Adams said police determined through their investigation that the same suspects also were responsible for smashing the window of a parked vehicle earlier in the evening at a different parking area of the same building.
