The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory forecasting strong winds that could gust up to 50 miles per hour in the East Bay hills and the North Bay hills starting tonight, Saturday, and continuing until Monday morning.
The winds are expected to be less severe during the day on Sunday and pick back up again on Sunday evening, the agency said.
The impacts include "possible downed trees and power lines as well as difficult driving conditions," the weather service said.
The winds are expected in the wake of a dry cold front expected to sweep across the region tonight.
The advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. tonight through 7 a.m., Monday, the agency said.
