City Accepting Applications Now for Open Seat on Albany City Council

The vacancy will be filled within 30 days.

There is currently a vacancy on the City Council due to the recent passing of Mayor Peggy Thomsen.

In accordance with the Albany City Charter, the Council is to fill the vacancy by appointment within 30 days. The Charter requires an individual to be a registered voter and a resident of the City of Albany to serve on the City Council.

The Albany City Council has opened an application period for individuals interested in serving on the City Council. The Application period opens on June 17, 2014 and runs through June 27, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Applications must be turned in to the City Clerk, 1000 San Pablo Avenue, or via email to nalmaguer@albanyca.org. The City Council will review applications and appoint an individual to the vacant seat as part of their July 7, 2014 meeting.
